MAIZE CRAZE

Cane Creek Farm Corn Maze 2025

Join us this Fall 2026 for our second annual corn maze at Cane Creek Farm in Snow Camp, NC (8262 NC-87, Snow Camp, NC 27349)! We are located just minutes from Saxapahaw, within easy driving distance of Chapel Hill, Greensboro, Raleigh, Mebane, Burlington, and Siler City. Buy your tickets here!

Last year, we designed the maze in the shape of a stunning Celtic cross to honor our familyโ€™s Scottish heritage. The course was packed with checkpoints and fun attractions โ€” and with Halloween creeping up each year, you never know what might pop up next!

Cradled in the neck or our main maze, we also created a kiddie maze for the little ones โ€” an easier, more playful version just for them. You can also look forward to plenty of photo ops, a towering hay-bale pyramid, a giant tire swing, the whale watch, fun games, and even a visit with our own Ossabaw Island hogs and their adorable piglets. We were blown away by the overwhelmingly positive feedback from visitors throughout the Triad.

Maize Craze at Cane Creek Farm features branching paths, dead ends, and puzzles that take between 45 minutes and an hour to complete, with an abbreviated version available for children. We welcome day and nighttime visitors as the maze provides a unique experience for both. The event also includes live music, square dancing, and food trucks during select times, as noted on the event calendar.

A Short History of Mazes

Labyrinths and mazes have a rich history dating back thousands of years. Medieval stone and turf labyrinths appeared in Northern Europe between the 12th and 17th centuries, often serving as sites for walking meditation. Ancient labyrinths are also documented in Egypt and Crete. The practice of creating patterns in corn fields has roots in agrarian societies where maize was a staple crop. Today, corn mazes offer both challenging fun and a means for farmers to support their communities and attract visitors through agrotourism.
